COVID-19 Cure: Iwu Says FG Yet To Show Interest In Their Drug

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bioresources Development Group (BDG), Prof. Maurice Iwu has stated that the Federal Government is yet to expose hobby in treatment supplied by means of his group of researchers for COVID-19.

Iwu made this known at some point of Zoom Conference organised by Elombah Communications in collaboration with Njenje Media Ltd, tagged “Covid-19 and the proposed Vaccination Bill: Implications for Nigeria”.

The former INEC boss, who led a crew of researchers had provided a plant-primarily based patented treatment for COVID-19 to the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu.

But, Iwu while speaking on the Zoom Conference, stated the authorities is yet to expose interest inside the drug calling at the National Assembly to organise emergency Public hearing on this issue.

He stated the lawmakers thru their oversight feature need to direct organization difficulty to speedy song the method of validating the drug.

Iwu stated,” Government needs to show interest in our drug, the cash raised through personal sectors can be deployed, it does not need to come to Prof. Iwu, it is statistics, the product is ours, however the data is already outside.

“There must be interest at the part of authorities that they want to test the drug, once the government shows hobbyevery other element will fall in place.”

He stated the lawmakers can have a public hearing on the drug and ask why the validation for the drug is taking longer than necessary.
